Administrated by the Des Plaines Park District, the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion is a public park located on Lee Street. The park is host to the Live at the Lake summer concert series.

Tucked away on Thacker Street near downtown Des Plaines, Central Park is a beautiful and relaxing space. It has a large field for picnics and ball games, a pavilion and a well kept garden for browsing and reflecting.
Phat Bao Temple is a worship center serving the needs of the Des Plaines Vietnamese Buddhist community. It is a part of the Buddhist Council of the Midwest.
Faith Alliance Bible Church offers a wide range of ministries and events outside of standard worship, including two weekly youth programs, TGIF and Leaders for Life, and Covenant Kidz, a Sunday morning children's ministry. It also has studies for adults and boast an impressive missionary program. Most recently, a group of four adults and 16 students traveled to the Philippines to help construct a school.
Built in the mid-1980s, this church has one of the largest Mar Thoma parishes in the United States. Mar Thoma is a Christian denomination based in southwestern India. This church has a bible study group and family retreats. There is another Mar Thoma church in Chicago.
The Self-Help Closet & Pantry of Des Plaines was opened in 1971 as a volunteer program headed by the Women's Fellowship of the First Congregational Church of Des Plaines. Its mission is to provide food and clothing to Des Plaines residents in need. It is a not-for-profit and relies on donations of food and funds from local businesses, residents, churches, schools, clubs and other organizations.

Originally located in a single-family home, this Islamic Community Center has grown in the past 12 years and is now able to build a mosque to better serve its congregation in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. This center provides its congregation with many activities and educational programs within the community. Members of the organization not only worship at the mosque, but also participate in educational and community activities.
Allstate Arena is the largest indoor entertainment center in the Chicago area. Its facility hosts family shows, sports games and musical performances. It is home to sports teams such as the Chicago Wolves (AHL), DePaul University Men’s Basketball (Big East), Chicago Rush Arena Football (AFL) and the Chicago Sky (WNBA). It also hosts shows such as Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus, World Wrestling Entertainment, Harlem Globetrotters, Stars on Ice and Disney on Ice. Its parking lot only accepts cash.
Catholic Charities has been providing resources for people in need throughout the Chicago area for over 90 years. This organization offers various programs, including counseling, school-based services, child development, health care, domestic violence assistance and other services. Catholic Charities also offers an Earnfare and a Food Stamp Employment Training Program. These programs provide emergency shelter, emergency financial assistance, advocacy, short-term case management, food pantry, clothing and benefits screening. There are locations for this organization throughout the state of Illinois.
The Romanian Baptist Church serves Des Plaines' Romanian community by offering church services four days a week, as well as youth groups and mission trips. Located on Northwest Highway just east of Wolf Road.
Mount Prospect Journal provides local news for the residents of Mount Prospect. It is a biweekly paper distributed by mail and available by subscription. The Journal is a part of Journal & Topics Newspapers, home to 17 local publications. The company have celebrated their 80th year in business.
Arndt Park is one of Des Plaines largest parks and is full of amenities that include:
Three baseball diamonds, tw tennis courts, four half basketball courts, a lighted inline hockey rink, 10 horseshoes courts, a sledding hill and an outdoor skating rink.
There is also a playground with jungle gyms, slides, swings, a see-saw, a merry-go-round, a small climbing wall and of course a drinking fountain.
There's a designated area with picnic benches and outdoor grills for barbecuing and get-togethers.
The Arndt Park fieldhouse is available for rental. It has a kitchen and large room (long tables and chairs are available) perfect for meetings, parties and special events.

This church, founded in 1969, was formerly The United Pentecostal Church of Des Plaines. Since 1996 the congregation has been led by Pastor Charles L. Reid III or Dr. Chuck, as he is known to some. It has 10 ministries including Healthy Living, the Usher Board, Christian Education and Dare to Live, a substance abuse program. Bethesda hosts group Bible studies at locations, such as nursing homes, outside the church upon request.
