The North Jefferson Eagles are a part of the international non-profit organization, the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Its members contribute to the community through charitable donations and volunteer work. Members also have a social bond with other members. The local chapter host events such as barbecues, private parties and musical concerts.
Hope Lutheran is a member of the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. The congregation, which worships in an elegant stone building, supports a wide variety of activities for men, women and youth, including Bible study groups for all ages and a youth and family ministry that schedules regular outings.
Hope Lutheran also sponsors its Early Childhood Center, which provides fee-based pre-school and child-care programs.
The Fellowship First Baptist Church is a large, brick building that is visible at the intersection of Gravois Road and High Ridge Boulevard. The buiding houses all church facilities, offices, a gymnasium and a pre-school. The congregation is very family- and youth-oriented.
Fellowship First Baptist has a number of ministries, including AWANA (a Bible-centered youth organization for 3-year-olds through 6th grade), Quest Student Ministry, Senior Saints, Vacation Bible School and Monday Ministries, as well as basketball and cheerleading teams.
The All of God's Children Camp and conference center is open year-round. It hosts Christian-centered camps and retreats for youths and adults on a reservation-only basis. The camp is spread across 77 acres and has a large conference center that can accomodate up to 240 people. Amenities include two outdoor swimming pools, basketball courts, baseball fields and a hiking/walking trail.
This is the High Ridge center of Mid-East Area Agency On Aging. It provides elder care services as well as Meals on Wheels. Its mission is "assisting adults through the journey of aging." Email [email protected] for more information or visit the website.
The Society for Our Mother of Peace is home to Mary the Font of Solitude, a religious monastic community of the Catholic church. The retreat is geared for participants to spend their days in prayer. As a hermitage, the goal is to provide a place for quiet time with God. The group also practices some door-to-door evangelization. Visitors are welcome.
The High Ridge Knights of Columbus Council 8588, affiliated with St. Anthony's Church, performs a variety of fund-raising activities in the local community and operates a large banquet hall on Antire Road. The banquet facility is located on the grounds of the defunct Poco Loco Western Town, which the Knights purchased several years ago. In addition to being able to seat 200 for banquets in the main hall, there is also a smaller facility, seating up to 50, in the old saloon of the former tourist attraction.
The Catholic, fraternal, charitable, family organization provides an honor guard upon request at wakes and funerals. The faith-based group has 120 members. With a primary mission of raising funds for charity, the Knights help support Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, as well as the local chapter of the St. Vincent DePaul Society through events such as a Night at the Races, dances and others.
Living Praise Ministries is under the direction of Pastor Jeanne Mohr, who also writes and publishes sacred music and spiritual books. The Ministries' building is located at the top of a steep hill in High Ridge. Mohr describes the ministry as varied and small but says it is able to provide biblical counseling programs and free emergency food assistance. She also sponsors a writing workshop called "Let's Write for Jesus."
This office is not owned by the state of Missouri, but rather an individual contract agent. Services include new plates, plate renewals, driver's licenses, license renewals, driver's permits and renewals, state IDs, driving records and license reinstatements. Missouri law requires all drivers have to have car, auto or truck insurance in order to register a vehicle or receive a drivers license.
Christian Fellowship Assembly is on an expansive campus on High Ridge Boulevard. The congregation is involved in a variety of ministries and pays special attention to the needs of the homeless. The non-denomination church also has several Bible study programs.
