The county's Public Works Department oversees five divisions: Engineering, Roads and Bridges, Wastewater Services, Water and Sewer Authority and Stormwater Management, while planning and developing infrastructure to meet the county's needs and ensure quality services for residents. This department is housed within the county's administrative annex.
The Cherokee County Capital Projects department is housed in the administration building. Its employees deal with all the major building projects in the county, including parks, buildings and transportation construction.
