RPS Imaging, formerly Rapid Processor Service, was founded in 1977 with its first location in Three Oaks, Mich. The company s initial goal was to not only meet, but also exceed the imaging needs of hospitals, clinics and private practices in northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan. In the 1980s RPS experienced growth that allowed it to grow not only in the number of customers but also gave it the chance to serve a new geographic area. With its growth continuing in the 90s, it needed to expand its primary distribution center. RPS moved into a 20,000-square-foot building in Michigan City, Ind., to meet its space requirements. This location puts it in the center of its customer base. It stretches from lower Wisconsin through Illinois and Indiana into southwest Michigan and western Ohio. In the latter part of 1998, RPS Imaging became a shareholder of NHD, Inc. (National Healthcare Distributors).
