The Evangelical Free Church of Libertyville's mission is "to build a community of Christ-followers to reach a culture in need of God's presence." Seven elders provide spiritual leadership and govern the organization, and five salaried members lead the ministries dedicated to helping adults, youths and children to grow in relationship to Jesus Christ. Sunday worship starts at 9am and children's church education starts at 9:20am.
The Christian Science Reading Room is the bookstore and lending library for the First Church of Christ, Scientists in Libertyville. The Reading Room provides materials about Christian Science and its discovery as well as Mary Baker Eddy, founder of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientists. The lending library uses an honor system where patrons simply provide their contact information upon checking out an item. There is reserved parking for patrons of the Reading Room in the rear of the building.

It offers bible study for adults, a religious education program for children and programs to meet the spiritual needs of persons with special needs. There is also a Catholic pre-school and elementary school here, associated with the church.
The Serbian Orthodox Church-Metropolitanate of Libertyville is listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. The church grounds is home to the St. Sava monastery Cemetery, the School of Theology and a memorial in honor of General Dragoljub Mihailovich who served as Commander-in-Chief of the Yugoslavian Army Forces and also as the Minister of War.

In 1989, Trinity Community Church was founded with a "vision for a new church that blended elements of worship, prayer, Biblical teaching and the active presence of the Holy Spirit." The congregation met in rented spaces until it moved to its current location in 2003. This church promotes a family-oriented community where every member is a disciple, minister and missionary. The church hosts a junior high ministry, women's Bible study and mission trips to help places in need. Church services take place at 10am on Sundays.
