In 1974, Jim Mauro Sr. brought the first lineal vinyl extruder to the United States from Germany. He began to make vinyl extrusions at a company he created, Poly-tex. Simultaneously, Jim created Vynex Window Systems Inc. which was the first fabricator of the first all tubular vinyl window, which is the vinyl window as we know it today. In the early 80s, Poly-tex was acquired by Chelsea Building Products. Vynex Window Systems Inc. continues to purchase vinyl extrusions from Chelsea building products as well as manufacturing, distributing, and installing quality vinyl windows, wood windows, and doors to Western Pennsylvania and surrounding areas to this day. Vynex Window Systems Inc. has always been a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer. Originally spreading our roots on East Ohio St. in Pittsburgh and moving in 1985 to 40th St. in Lawrenceville where the business flourished until 2013. Vynex Window Systems Inc. is now located in North Versailles, PA where we continue to manufacture the same quality products that we always have since 1975.
