Renaissance Adventure Guides strives to offer its friends ( read clients ) high quality adventure training and travel experiences in the areas of kayaking,, snow skills and multi-sport activities. We build relationships that last for years and memories that last a lifetime. Many of our friends come back year after year to experience a new place and/or activity, some bringing along other members of their families to share in the escapade. Experiences shared on a Renaissance activity will bring you home invigorated and oftentimes with a different perspective on life. Our ethics are of the highest quality, allowing our friends and partner companies to trust us. Next year will see the implementation of our local vehicles being powered by bio-fuels. We continue to move forward in our vision to leave the world a better place. In 1998 brothers Max and Mike Young decided to join together in creating an outdoor adventure travel company that combined their passions water and mountains. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado during their youth, the brothers were infected with a love affair for hiking, kayaking, climbing, rafting, backpacking and adventure. Mike went on to join the US Navy as an officer after his college years, developing a relationship with the sea that he would introduce Max too as well. Thus, sea kayaking was added to the list of favorite adventure activities in which to participate. Over the course of the next eight years Max and Mike worked together to create a harmonious company that offers year-round adventure training in Colorado and adventures in other countries around the world. 2006 saw the addition of Lyle Phetteplace to the team. With Lyles strong background as a master kayak teacher, Renaissance Adventure Guides was able to become the leader in Colorado in kayaking instruction. Lyle created our extremely popular kids camps, and many of the junior members of our family consider him to be their happy uncle. His passion for paddling, people and families make Lyle a centerpiece of our kayaking program. After spending three weeks in Costa Rica on several of our trips in 2007 he is excited to be taking more and more people warm-water paddling during the winter time. 2008 has been a year of thanksgiving and growth for Renaissance a sort of re-birth if you will. In January Mike moved on to pursue a career of service with the State Department. Since then Max and Lyle have been busy redesigning and improving upon the current Renaissance products. This new website is just one example of our future direction. Patty LaBarge, self-proclaimed whitewater freaka-chica, has joined the team in our marketing and customer care arena. Our staff, our greatest asset, is stronger and more personal than ever. With going on ten years of experience, Renaissance Adventure Guides has become a well-recognized name in the adventure travel and training industry. Our quality of service and commitment to providing rejuvenating adventure holidays is of the highest caliber. The majority of our courses, trips and adventures are all-inclusive we have taken the grunt and guess work out of the equation so that you can enjoy your precious time away from home in a satisfied state of mind.
