Mayo Nursery School is a private, cooperative pre-school for three- and four-year-olds housed in the Mayo United Methodist Church building in Edgewater. There are both morning and afternoon sessions for threes on Tuesday and Thursday, and morning and afternoon sessions for fours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
During each session, two parent helpers volunteer with a full-time lead teacher (certified by the Maryland State Department of Education). Very active parents run the board of directors and make administrative and admissions decisions.
The Summit School is a pre-K through 8th grade private co-educational day school located in Edgewater. The not-for-profit school was founded in 1989. Summit is for bright students with dyslexia and other learning differences in grades 1 through 8. There is a focus on fostering literacy and interactive learning.
AACC at the Glen Burnie Town Center offers courses in hospitality, culinary arts and tourism. The community college, which sits in Arundel Center Noth, offers degree programs in addition to specialized and noncredit instruction.
