Waukesha South High School is the oldest high school in the Waukesha School District and also possesses the most diverse student population. The school serves students who attended Central Middle School and Horning Middle School. Some students and faculty call South "Harvard on the hill" as a boast about academic achievements and the school's location on top of a large hill on East Roberta Avenue.
Banting Elementary School is the only school in the Waukesha School District to offer a full dual language school. In its second year, the dual language program is designed to have all of its students fluent in both Spanish and English by the completion of the fifth grade. The program is currently offered in kindergarten and first grade with plans to expand it by one each school year.
