The Lorton Community Action Center has been serving Lortonians in need for 35 years. The center provides a range of social services that include a food pantry, a thrift store, financial assistance, referral programs and seasonal needs whether they are tax or holiday related. Voluteers and donations are always welcome.
Mid-Atlantic Gleaning Network links farmers to volunteer gleaners to harvest fresh fruit and vegetables for low-income individuals, families and communities. Volunteers include church groups, service clubs, schools, college organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H clubs, senior citizens, inner-city public housing residents and interested individuals.
