The Bureau of Tax Administration is a part of the State Controllers Office in Sacramento, Calif. It provides assistance in filling out income tax forms. Its audits division determines the legality and accuracy of all claims against the state through the performance of prepayment audits. Its collections division administers and collects the estate, inheritance and gift taxes.
