The Kentucky Assistive Technology Service Network, also known as KATS Network, is a public agency that provides a range of information technology solutions and related services for individuals with developmental disabilities. It serves families, employers, educators, and health care, employment and social services providers. The agency operates various technology facilities, such as the Bluegrass Technology Center, Redwood Assistive Technology Center, Western Kentucky Assistive Technology Center and Enabling Technologies of Kentuckiana. It coordinates a variety of public awareness, educational, and device demonstration and reutilization programs. The agency additionally offers training programs in the areas of public domain software development, videoconferencing technology, communication screening and software preview. The Kentucky Assistive Technology Service Network provides technical support, device augmentation, technology consultation, and product and vendor information services. It also offers educational loans and funding programs through the Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corporation.
