The Re-Store Warehouse is a thrift store where 100 percent of every purchase goes to community-minded organizations, such as Fayetteville Urban Ministry, Operation Inasmuch, Cumberland Interfaith Hospitality Network and The Center for Economic Empowerment and Development among others. It accepts donations of new and used home improvement products, including cabinets, appliances, lighting, furniture, lighting and plumbing fixtures, windows, doors and more.
The Goodwill store and donation center in North Hollywood is a large facility that houses donated goods that it sells to support its humanitarian efforts. There is a large selection of furniture and housewares fit for a first apartment owner or dorm room. There are rows of apparel for women, men and children, including lightly worn to brand new merchandise. It also has a large selection of ladies handbags, shoes, belts and gloves. Donations are accepted in-store.
Senior Access is a social club for individuals with memory loss. This establishment offers a number of programs for members, including creative art and music programs, respite for caregivers, lunch, stimulating brain games and drop-in care. There is an additional location for this club in Belvedere.
The downtown workshop provides a place for mentally or physically handicapped adults to work and socialize. Tasks include light packaging, labeling, stuffing envelopes, heat sealing and other jobs. The workshop seeks work projects from other businesses and also accepts donations.
The post's members have served in a variety of overseas conflicts, including World War II, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. The bar and activity room are open to members and their guests. The banquet rooms are available for rent, and buzz with activity during the Post's many events, including holiday parties, Texas Hold-Em tournaments, bingo and Karaoke.
The CK-12 Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a unique mission: to create online collaborative environment for the production of free digital textbooks, which they call flexbooks. The organization is working to ensure the books meet curriculum guidelines and can be customized to individual needs.
Elks Lodge No. 2284 is part of a foundation made up of a network of lodges around the country. Each lodge brings communities together by offering scholarships, meals, summer camps, entertainment and other activities.
This not-for-profit organization employs a community land trust model to provide affordable housing to low-income families in the Bay Area. It both builds and renovates existing properties to rent or sell below market cost to residents who have been trained in home ownership responsibilities. The organization also offers office space when available.
The Alano Club of the Eastside is a non-profit social haven for recovering alcoholics and their families. Not affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous, "The Club" holds numerous daily meetings, book studies and other programs such as Marijuana Anonymous. For more than 30 years, the Alano Club has offered friendship, service opportunities and support to the Eastside community.
