Founded in 1997, the Anacostia Trails Heritage Organization is dedicated to preserving, enhancing and publicizing important sites within Prince George's County. The organization's reach covers 84 square miles of historic, cultural, recreational and environmental sites, including the Riverdale House Museum, Bostwick Mansion, the Laurel Museum and the College Park Aviation System. The Anacostia Trails Heritage Organization's offices are located in the City of Hyattsville Municipal Building on Gallatin Street.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is inside of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Warehouse is West Atlanta. It was founded by Bill Bolling in 1979 and originally operated out of the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Midtown. The food bank now provides food for more than 700 non-profit agencies. These agencies include food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and child care centers in Atlanta and other areas throughout North Georgia. It has an interactive website with helpful information about the various ways to donate and volunteer. Individuals and companies can make monetary donations online and walk-in food donations are accepted on-site during weekday hours. It also has volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of up to 25 people. The Atlanta Community Food Bank sponsors and organizes events to raise money and awareness about hunger and nutrition. Information about the Hunger Walk/Run, Community Gardens, Kids in Need, and other annual community activities is posted on its website.
The Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. is a volunteer staff fire and rescue crew. This squad responds to daily and nightly emergency calls throughout the suburban capital region. Members have the option to libe at the station or can volunteer a couple times a month. Those interested in becoming a volunteer here will receive free training to become a certified firefighter or EMT.

Malibu Community Labor Exchange (MCLE) is a non-profit organization that specializes in the hiring and administration of day workers. It boasts more than 5000 registered workers and was founded by former nun and day worker advocate, Connie Fox.

Save-A-Pet is a national organization that has been saving animals since 1972. It has been in business in Grayslake since 1995. Save-A-Pet is a no-kill animal rescue that houses cats and dogs. It currently houses 300 cats and dogs that are all looking for loving homes.
