Maryknoll Sisters Center serves communities worldwide. The sisters come from 29 lands and serve in 25 countries around the world. They work in small numbers in nonstructured ministries, providing adult education, leadership training, teaching English in China, fostering income-generating projects and working with people who live with HIV/AIDS. The mission center is in Ossining, New York, and the orientation program for new members is in Chicago, Illinois. Women who join the community are trained in a variety of professions, serving as nurses, doctors, teachers, social workers, catechists, theologians, agronomists, artists, journalists and community development specialists.
St. James R.C. Catholic Church has served the large Catholic community in and around Seaford for nearly 60 years with faith, worship, education and service. The church, founded in 1951, offers religious education from first grade through eighth grade, as well as a choir/music program. The church is currently under the leadership of Rev. St. Rose of Lima is a Roman Catholic church serving the community of Massapequa. The congregation is led by Reverend Kenneth Zach. In addition to offering daily mass services, the parish offers programs for children and young adults, as well as various social ministries which include food pantries, meals on wheels and bereavement groups.
St. Bartholomews Episcopal Church comforts and nurtures everyone who enters its doors. It hopes to represents God's love for all through offering rest, food, joyful music and worship.
The church offers food and shelter to the hungry and homeless. Its thrift shop finances many charities. It also offers dinners, concerts and other entertainment.
