VFW George R. Wolff Post 425 was one of the organization's earliest posts, forming in 1920, just after World War I. It is named in honor of the first man from Hopkins to die in that war. The post is also among the largest in the metro area; including its ladies' auxiliary, it has more 900 members on its rolls. The post offers food, drinks, pull tabs, bingo and, of course, a place for vets to gather and share their stories.
The post's members have served in a variety of overseas conflicts, including World War II, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. The bar and activity room are open to members and their guests. The banquet rooms are available for rent, and buzz with activity during the Post's many events, including holiday parties, Texas Hold-Em tournaments, bingo and Karaoke.
The Mound American Legion Post 398 not only offers great food and fun, but also benefits for area veterans, soldiers, marines and their families. The Legion also supports Westonka sports teams and provides scholarships to Westonka students.
Hopkins Elks Lodge #2221 is the Hopkins lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. It is a charitable fraternal organization aiming to benefit the community. The lodge is available to local, state and national members and features a dining room, pool table, a bar, big screen TVS and pull tabs. The lodge hosts many events including bingo events, luncheons and family picnics.
The Apple Valley American Legion is a local chapter of the national veterans and community service organization. The post features a bar and restaurant. The restaurant primarily offers American cuisine, however it does periodically host specialty food nights. The post also has a banquet room available for rental and for use free-of-charge by nonprofit organizations and schools.
This is the local outpost of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international nonprofit organization. Several years ago, the club underwent a $1 million reonovation, but it still has the typical appearance of an old-school, small-town fraternal club. The club offers a pool, Friday night raffles, karoake and Bingo on Saturday nights. The club also hosts occasional special events such as the annual sand volleyball tournament held each summer as part of Shakopee Derby Days.
Knights of Columbus is located off of Hamline Ave North in Roseville MN. The organization is made up of Catholic Men who have a a strong belief in healthy families, a strong community and the Catholic Church. The Roseville office of the Knights of Columbus is only one of the Minneosta locations.
