Also known as M.S. 447, The Math and Science Exploratory School is a popular middle school in District 15. Science and math are the main areas of of emphasis. Students make frequent field trips to the city's many educational attractions, including museums and the aquarium. Home Ec is a sewing studio where beginning-to-advanced fashion stylists can take classes, learn to make patterns and alterations, as well as design clothing by experienced seamstresses. The owners, who also operate Flirt, a boutique at 93 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, sell overstock items here as well. They describe Home Ec as "home to all things creative."
