The Bayside chapter of an international network of Catholic not-for-profit social clubs, Knights of Columbus meets every first Thursday of the month at 8:30pm. Its facade prominently marks its founding date as 1956. Marked by old fashioned patriotism, American flags flank both sides of the building. The facility is open for monthly meetings and bookings of anniversaries, birthday parties and other event rentals.
Founded in 1963, the National Maritime Historical Society has been educating the public about our nation's vast maritime heritage for more than 50 years. Its national headquarters can be found at 5 John Walsh Boulevard on the bottom floor of the same building that houses Crystal Bay Seafood & Company. Membership with this highly esteemed group includes a subscription to its quarterly journal Sea History, 10 percent discounts on all NMHS merchandise, an official NMHS membership card and opportunites to participate in cruises and other special programs. Bayside Business Association services the Bayside community. It is involved in the beautification and growth of businesses within its community. It is also involved in the planning and oversight of commercial and economic programs and development of areas such as shopping districts and more.
Founded in 1963, the Huntington Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization which enriches the quality of life of Long Islanders with programs and services that address the needs and interests of artists, cultural organizations and the community.
The Council's programs reach over 750,000 Long Island residents, and it serves the entire region with its cultural listings at www.huntingtonarts.org. The New York State Council on the Arts has accorded the Huntington Arts Council the primary status designation of "being of particular importance to the cultural life of New York State."
The Council is the official arts coordinating agency for the Town of Huntington, and serves as the primary regranting agency on Long Island for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), in addition to its services to over 600 member cultural organizations and individual artist members.
